Walking home in the warming sunshine
A girl with bleached hair
Turns and smiles at me.
Seems too good to be true,
But then it doesn’t matter ‘cause she isn’t you.
In the club where they are playing my song
A girl passes me a drink
And makes me think the world is not such a bad place,
Sure she has a cute face
But then it doesn’t matter ‘cause she isn’t you.
I’m in a cultured state,
Looking at some beautiful art.
See the girls in the paintings
Whilst they’re iconic, it’s still true,
I just don’t want a girl, however perfect for someone else
If she still just isn’t you.
(And no one else in the world is ever you)
