I remember catching Larry King on TV when first visiting America as a kid and found him to be an interviewer that made you interested in whoever he was talking to. Later, when we finally got CNN, I would watch King nightly and you never knew who his guests would be. One night it would be a presidential candidate, the next the world’s biggest sports star, the next a charity worker.

Unlike the ego driven interviewers of the new generation, King would let his guests tell their tales and only interject to dig deeper into what other interviewers may have considered throwaway comments. You felt he cared and that made you care. We may never see his like again.

Godspeed, sir. 87 years alive, but eternal in the business. <3
