Dublin’s Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson is the perfect mix of Britney Spears and Rodney Dangerfield, a mix of heartbreak and hilarity, that knowing look in your eye that might make you laugh or might make you cry. Don’t get me wrong, she’s no comedy artist, she just finds humour in the darkest places – her song Another Day (kfc) comes from her breakdown in the chicken shop when the machine refused her card and her song Rodney refers to the classic comedians phrase “I get no respect!”

I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby! is a constant play on my stereo for the last few weeks and I hope that when this Covid fella disappears, I can see her live, she’s a goddamn delight. <3
