Tomorrow sees the fifth generation of Sony’s home console and the PlayStation 5 is being celebrated with some quirky rebranding on London’s tube.
At Oxford Circus station, the circular signs have been replaced by the iconic Sony shapes, with the wall notices also carrying the quartet of PS shapes. Some stations have even been renamed for the console launch – Mile End is now Miles End, to celebrate Miles Morales; Lancaster Gate is the rather awkward Ratchet And Clankaster Gate and West Ham is now Horizon Forbidden West Ham. Best of all, Seven Sisters is now Gran Turismo 7 Sisters. Brilliant.
These unique signs will be at Oxford Circus for 48 hours if you want to go and check them out, but amusingly, given the current ‘situation’, Sony has had to say you should only visit the station for ‘essential travel’. Nice.
