So I though if I left you alone for a while
You might realise what I meant.
You’d come back harder,
Pleading for what we had,
Finally finding those things you hated to be cute.
I stayed in during those days
Watching movie after movie
Sending cat memes through the static.
I gave up drinking
Found affinity with milkshakes
Bought water like it was going out of style.
Then on an evening stroll
Under the neon of the streetlights
I saw you and him embraced
Like Burton and Taylor.
And I was lost
And I’m still looking for shore. (Drowned)
