Poem : Broken Radio, Memory Heart

The radio plays a song that slays me
A tune that can reduce me to tears in seconds
Like a hydrochloric acid kiss
Spinning at forty five revolutions per minute.
It played in the background as We fell apart
Perfection shattered as the sound vibrated.
If only it was so loud that it drowned your words
Left me in a magical place
Where that conversation never happened
Where things were still pure vibrant colour.
But no, your voice broke through
And broke my heart.
I can still feel the tear
Live through it but never forget it.
It’s a different time
A different place
Maybe that was what destiny planned.
Destiny is a bitch.
