POEM: ‘There’s A Part Of Me Missing’

Thrown away like burning trash,
Tossed aside and forgotten.
No longer special,
Just another being floating idly through space
Silent and unneeded
Not thought of or desired.
I catch my breath and sail away.
Twilight begets darkness
Anguish replaces the sweet embrace.
I threw a ball into the stars
Hit perfection and held it in my hands.
But it grew and gained fangs,
Tearing me apart,
Tearing up my eyes.
Still floating and dreaming of the past,
Of the day the seas grow calm
Then suddenly foam up and spit out love again.
An endless salty refrain.
